We are located in the Point Loma area of San Diego and serve students from military and civilian families. Our diversity results from the many students coming from Liberty Station as well as from outside our school boundaries through the Voluntary Ethnic Enrollment Program (VEEP), Program Improvement School Choice (PISC), and the district Choice Program.

Our staff, students, parents, community, and educational partners work together to provide a positive and rigorous educational program. The staff's ongoing professional development and dialogue regarding students and teaching practices support our commitment to respond to the needs of all our students. We encourage parent and community involvement as important tools to ensure each student's academic success.

We at Cabrillo Elementary are committed to obtaining community resources for our school and invite all constituencies to assist us in the education of our students.

Cabrillo's parents volunteer as readers, tutors, classroom helpers, and field trip chaperones. They serve on various committees, including the School Site Council/School Governance Team (SSC/SGT) and Parent Teacher Association (PTA). Volunteeers from the Optomist Club and California Student Opportunity and Access Program tutor our students. Employees of Cabrillo's partners (First National Bank, Pt. Loma Branch, Navy Fleet Antisubmarine Warfare Training Group, McDonald's on Rosecrans and Vons Store #2114) also provide help at school events and serve as valuable resources to our entire community.
